Dark Age of Camelot Interview

Ein Interview (engl) zu dem kommenden MMORPG Dark Age of Camelotmit dem Präsidenten von Mythic Entertainment Mark Jacobs bei RPGDot.

RPGDot: First, what kind of features is DAoC going to have to make people choose it among other MMORPG's that will be released at the end of this year?

Mark Jacobs: Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot breaks new ground because, unlike previous games with the Camelot topic, it takes place after the death of King Arthur, and presents online players with three realms in conflict - realms which used to be peaceful and united under Arthur's rule. Players assume a character from one of the realms named Albion, Midgard, and Hibernia. The challengers are to ensure the ream's powerful relics are safe in their keep and to raid enemy territories to steal their relics and bring them to the home realm. Dark Age of Camelot is built upon the foundation laid by such MMORPGs as Everquest, Asheron's call, and Ultima Online, and features 3D-accelerated graphics with moveable camera, multiple class and race combinations, balanced PvP and PvE action, and a robust trade skill system. More details and screen shots can be found of the official Dark Age of Camelot game site at http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/. MMORPGs currently available offer a range of PvP systems: some don't allow any PvP while others allow everyone to fight everyone else, regardless of skill level. Dark Age of Camelot features PvP with a new twist: Team-based PvP where players can only fight characters in opposing realms. This encourages teamwork and cooperation among the members of a realm as they must band together to fend off attacks from the other realms.
