Ist Windows XP tauglich für Spieler?

Nun wurde auch mal genau geguckt was Windows XP für Spieler genau bringt. GamePC hat sich die Zeit genommen und einen 18! seitigen Artikel (engl) zu der Fähigkeit und Tauglichkeit von Spielen für Windows XP getippt.

You'd think that after they've finally made it through all this legal turmoil that Microsoft would lay low for a bit, and try to not push anyone's buttons too hard to cause this whole mess to flare up again. One of the major points of the lawsuit against Microsoft was that all of the separate applications inside Windows were so deeply embedded, that third-party developers wouldn't have a chance to compete.

Apparently, Microsoft just doesn't learn. Their recently released Windows XP is without a doubt, the most integrated version of Windows to date. From a consumer standpoint, it's great. All the basic OS functions are right at your fingertips and the OS doesn't require a lot of know-how to get around with. Many software companies who develop programs for Windows, in fact, may not be so happy.

Nonetheless, Windows XP is finally here. While the OS officially won't be released until the 25th of this month, final copies of the operating systems have been making their way to OEMs for some time now. While we've reported on the earlier XP betas we've received during the development program, it was only early last week that we finally got out hands on a final, retail packaged XP product from Microsoft. So, like always, we've gone from top to bottom looking at the OS, seeing what new features matter to us, the gaming community.
