Command & Conquer: Renegade News

Another excellent week, especially on the C&C mode side. The games are huge, frantic and new tactics are evolving every time we play. We do two sessions a day, helps to work out the design kinks. We have come up with a lot of little things we have to pay attention to when we build the levels, so now we are making adjustments to the maps to ensure the utmost playability (base layout, effective infantry battle areas that adjoin vehicle battle areas, etc.). We are still adjusting some of the balance as we find the high level characters need tweaking (I had high score in one game last week because I became Sydney Mobius (Power Armor Suit on) and she carries the Personal Ion Cannon. It takes a long time to fire (you have to hold down the mouse button) but what a punch. Great vehicle killer, blowing up Nod Buggies, taking out Stealth tanks, really sweet. I was even sniping from a looong distance, people didn't know what hit em and boy did they have to keep moving. She is very expensive, though, cost more than a medium tank! Tough decisions to make in the purchase screen. Stealth is awesome. I have had many an occasion where I was running to a C&C crate or toward the Nod base when all of a sudden the Stealth tank will fire up and run me down, they don't even have to waste the reload time.

The single player side is really getting solid, playing through the campaign now with no design stoppages and minimal crash bugs. Lots of little clean up (bug wise) to do but all within reason. Continuing to work on polishing some of the look, currently concentrating on handgun and sniper rifle. Boss AI is very cool. Hope you all are up to the challenge.
